Composer

I like to compose music and share it with others: in a concert hall, in a movie, or in a video game. I have composed music for all these platforms and some compositions have been played and awarded at festivals and nominations in the most varied places in the world. I would like to mention one in particular, received from the hand of one of my favorite composers Ryuichi Sakamoto – Silver Award at the Sapporo International Art Festival.

I had the pleasure of collaborating with exceptional musicians, of listening to my recorded music and seeing it being published. As well of studying and continuing learning from great teachers and now, be able to share my knowledge and experiences that I have obtained up to this moment.

“Sounding Images” (2013) for violoncello and piano. With Luis Caballero (violoncello)

Every day we find thousands of images that are captured by our own eyes and every instant means something – an environment, an emotion, a feeling, …, the unique moment that immediately turns into the past. Every piece represents one of this images placed into the score, which serve as a creative inspiration. Sometimes it is otherwise – the melodies that arise from the interior, like a few small pieces of a puzzle, are creating an image – real or imaginary. So the process is a continuity, where a beginning is the end, and the end is a beginning…

“The Last Man of Fukushima” (2016) with Pablo Pascual (bass clarinet) and Luis Caballero (violoncello)

“The Last Man of Fukushima”, with my usual collaborator Luis Caballero on cello and Pablo Pascual on bass clarinet – an instrument that I was interessted in some time ago. As the name of the composition for cello and piano, the CD name refers and is dedicated to Naoto Matsumura, the last man of Fukushima, the guardian of abandoned animals during nippon’s tragedy.

“Piano book” (2014) for piano

Sparkle of light

“How many time we are able to keep sailing without course,
in the deep waters of the open Sea.
Looking for the only sparkle of Light proceeding from some remote Lighthouse.
When the only Light capable of guiding us forever,
we have inside us. In our Heart.”

“Voicing” (2008) for female voice (multitrack recording). With Mónica de Nut (voice)

The voice is, possibly, the oldest instrument used by humans. This minimalist composition consists of three parts in which I explore the three basic possibilities of the, in this case, female voice – whisper, speaking and singing. Canons, floating overlays and melodic patterns are the compositional techniques used in this piece.
